Does anyone remember those fruity smelling, peel off masks from about ten years ago? I haven’t seen any on the shelves at any retailers lately, but I used to use those masks in middle school and high school and let me tell you, they were awful. I mean my face turned bright red, it hurt terribly to peel those masks off, and I broke out like crazy after each time that I used one of those masks. I have some fond memories of my mom and I laughing and crying while wearing these masks. It was so funny, but hurt so bad all at the same time! I’m not sure why I continued to use these masks, but for some reason I did. Did any of you ever use these?! I want to know if I’m the only one who remembers this!
Thankfully, I’ve moved on from using those types of masks and have since been using ones that have been so helpful for my skin. My skin is naturally pretty dry, but I do have some points on my face that have been getting a little more oil than normal. I also have some blackheads on my nose that I try to get rid of through some of these skin treatments.
Twice a week, I use the Mary Kay Microdermabrasion Set to get rid of any dry skin on the surface. This also gets rid of some of those blackheads that I have. After just one use, your skin feels so smooth!
The day after I use the Microdermabrasion Set, I always do some sort of charcoal mask. Activated charcoal is supposed to draw impurities out of your skin and I find that it works really well with the Microdermabrasion Set. I have two charcoal masks (1,2) that I love and I just switch between the two.
On other days, depending on how my skin looks and feels, I will use one of two masks from Lush. One of my absolute favorites is the Rosy Cheeks mask. This calms my skin and smells amazing. After using this mask, my face will smell like roses and it is just awesome. I also love the Mask of Magnaminty. For times when I am breaking out, this mask is perfect. It also does a good job of exfoliating the skin on my face.
Although these are my faves, I am always looking for new masks and treatments to try! If you have any recommendations, comment below!
